## Overview

Spaceports in the [Greater Atlan Territorial Alliance (GATA)](https://wiki.codauniverse.com/coda-universe/world/gata/the-basics) are increasingly active hubs for space-bound travel to orbit, the moon, and beyond. Similar to district [Gates](https://wiki.codauniverse.com/coda-universe/world/gata/borders-and-travel/gates), they are known for their stringent, [NDA-compliant](https://wiki.codauniverse.com/coda-universe/world/gata/law-and-order/new-dawn-accords) security protocols and state-of-the art logistical systems.

Spaceports play a key role in bolstering the growing off-world [enterprises](https://wiki.codauniverse.com/coda-universe/world/gata/enterprise) of GATA, [Sol](https://wiki.codauniverse.com/coda-universe/world/sol/the-basics), and other nations, enabling both civilian and enterprise travel while adhering to the strict security measures that are critical to preserving GATA’s territorial integrity.

## Security and Staff

Each spaceport in GATA has dedicated [Collections](https://wiki.codauniverse.com/coda-universe/world/gata/law-and-order/collections) desk staff and [Gate Patrol](https://wiki.codauniverse.com/coda-universe/world/gata/borders-and-travel/gate-patrol) agents on site. The staff is responsible for securing the spaceport and [scanning](https://wiki.codauniverse.com/coda-universe/world/science-and-tech/scanners) luggage, cargo, as well as passengers. Spaceports also typically leverage the labor of [automata](https://wiki.codauniverse.com/coda-universe/world/science-and-tech/automata) to streamline loading and maintenance.

In GATA, travelers must possess the [appropriate keys](https://wiki.codauniverse.com/coda-universe/world/gata/politics/keys) for travel, ensuring that only authorized individuals can access the spaceports.

Spaceports utilize [static-powered](https://wiki.codauniverse.com/coda-universe/world/science-and-tech/statics) boarding and loading [gondolas](https://wiki.codauniverse.com/coda-universe/science-and-tech/statics#gondolas) to ferry cargo, passengers, and crew if necessary, providing smooth and reliable transportation within the spaceport premises.
